"troubling news about Janet Jackson..."

I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir here but this little article should not even be news. who cares if Janet Jackson now looks like a healthy American woman instead of as another anorexic celebrity? (I would love to look that great! she looks good!) If 160 lbs. is "troubling" then what am I? Just a great big tragedy? Is 117lbs. the standard? come on! bad American news journalists! bad!! This being said, I did have a busy day meeting with my oral surgeon for the last time (yay!! no more mouth torture!), and with a diabetes nutritionist and a diabetic educator. I've had this disease for a few years but I need to get better, especially now so that in "the 3 or 4 years or so" when I want to have babies, I can. Both diabetes people were so nice and encouraging and this is the first time that I have heard that 2 things that I really love- peanut butter and diet soda- are not bad!! This being said, I did make a committment to be more mindful of my diabetes and of what I eat- baby steps but doable steps. I wasn't lectured but rather left feeling motivated. so Yay! for me!

Prayers for me for this week- that I finish the readings and paper that I have due next Tuesday- I have to read 100 more pgs of one book, write a 7pg paper on that; and I have to read 300 pages of LUTHER (yawwwwnnn- this is the centuries ago tall, skinny white guy that had problems with Catholicism. This isn't the "I have a dream" Luther, who I read last year for the same professor actually.) (Also pray that I finally get back into the schedule of work and school and that I sleep better at nights.) Oh it's overwhelming but I know I can do it and I would appreciate the prayers.

Hi Erin,

Oh I totally agree with you about the weight thing! I really am sick of the images the media portrays of how "ideal" women should look. My little daughter has a very thin friend who is a year older than her and that girl's mother had the nerve to tell my daughter she was chubby! I seriously wanted to smack that woman, her daughter is so thin because her mother so strictly monitors what she can eat and how much. My daughter is very healthy and height/weight appropriate for her age. Even at 5 she thinks thin means beautiful, she thinks fat means old for some reason lol. Anyway good luck finishing your paper! Hope you have a great rest of the week! :-)

I agree with you about the weight, it's really sad what people see as beauty these days.

Hi Erin. Hope you the best with your homework and pendings for school. Will be including you in Brian & I's prayers, just like you are requesting us, your friends, to pray for you.

Have a very nice week Erin. God bless.
