Mel Gibson is working very hard to promote his new movie "apocalypto", in the Spanish speaking community.
He speaks here, in Spanish? (you have to go towards the bottom, at the "video" section, to find the video online of Mel Gibson.)
Basically, on the spanish channels, they are showing commercials and in between clips of the movie, Mel Gibson speaks in Spanish about how important his movie is for the Spanish speaking community and he says that he wants it to leave the audience speechless.
He was also interviewed tonight on the local spanish channel. It was funny because he spoke faster than the translator could speak. The journalist tried to get him to talk about things unrelated and he didn't. It was actually a long, confusing interview because I was trying to understand him and the translator at the same time, trying to hear what he was saying about his movie and at the same time critiquing whether or not the translator was translating correctly (is this a normal problem for people who speak/understand 2 languages?)I, personally, was very interested.
My husband, on the other hand, was already asleep. Am I the only wife who gets really annoyed when her husband falls asleep during the 11:00 news? I can't be!! We eat dinner and then do our own things and then, supposedly, we watch the news together!!! (I suppose I am being rather hypocritical as I type this- I am, after all, in the living room blogging about how annoyed I am). It's just one of those things! I want to talk at night, about Mel Gibson and why he chose to do a movie about Mayans and not Aztecs. I want to talk about the news and the dentist appointment we have tomorrow ad nauseum etc. I am a huge talker.
Bless his heart, Dennis (who, to be fair, worked all day and then came home to work on financial aid paperwork for Grad school), was exhausted. I've just been thinking, about how normal it is to love someone so much and for it to be okay at the same time to be really annoyed by some of the things they do. That is love and a relationship. It's not supposed to be easy. It balances itself out- he sleeps during the news but he also watches my reality shows with me and brings me dinner and took care of me all weekend when I had a cold.
I really hope that I don't get punished at the dentist tomorrow. I don't floss. I'm pretty bad at keeping my mouth in ideal shape. I really do not want any kind of injections in my mouth tomorrow. Or lectures.

Hey, I've heard about Mel Gibson's latest movie.. am so looking forward to watch it. :P I hope it's not as "bloody" as his previous ones. Hehehe.
Well, at least your husband sit there and watch it with you ~ altho he fell asleep. LoL. My boyfriend would NEVER sit with me to watch the news at all. He'd rather sit at his computer table and play games. =.=" Only time he'll sit with me is when I begged him to. *teehee*
I'd do the same as you too, when I speak both language (speaker & translator).. sometimes I criticised the translator when he said words that the speaker didn't. I guess that's normal ~ and if it's not normal, at least I know I'm not alone! LoL
Well, enjoy your weekdays, Erin. Take care and God bless!
*Hugs*
Does he? justa few rods hehe. Whatever but I am so proud of this language :) and I love when people wants to learn it ( best ambassor is Paltrow, the actress ) so if Gibson wants: go onnnnn!
You know: I felt the same way you did with my english, or when I try to combine english and spanish but I have to be sincere and say that if you are really REALLY good in a language, it is easy to switch on and off and do understand any of the 2 languages whatever the fuss is. I do that with catalan and spanish, the 2 languages, and I do understand them at any time so, I guess, my english is so horrible LOL!
anyways, it is INEXCUSABLE Mel's WHITE SOCKS!!!! AAARRRGGHHHHHHHH!!!! they made me blind!!!!!
Hello Erin. Had not heard of the new movie of Mel Gibson, so was interesting to read about it in your last post.
I understand Dennis falling asleep after hard days of work, as I'm similar to him. Sometimes Brian is watching his programs or movies at night and I join him to watch them but after a few minutes I just fall asleep, lol.
Oh, hope your visit to the dentist goes well. Take care.
Thanks for passing by my blog and leaving comments. I appreciate this a lot.
Okies, have a great rest of the week Erin and talk to you later.
Hugs,
Gabriela. :)
