post-valentines day

Well, we are not getting a housekeeper. It would be a nice luxary but I have been very good at keeping things clean and orderly and Dennis is very impressed. And I actually feel good when the house is clean. (This is nothing new but lately I just have more energy.) We have both been very busy with school so Valentine's day was not that exciting because we really didn't have time to go out or anything. But we gave each other cards and I gave Dennis some homemade chocolate covered strawberries that I bought from a neighbor and the token hallmark teddy bear, and he gave me a really cute scrapbook for couples (it's kind of like a baby book but it has hearts and you describe your relationship). And today we went to lunch together, which was very nice. The great thing about Malibu is that it's really kind of like a plastic ghost town. There really isn't much to do and you can find lots of restaurants that are not busy at all during the day (but very busy on weekends and some nights). So the italian restaurant that we went to was actually empty! It makes me feel a bit old that I don't like going to crowded places at night and that I'd rather go out to lunch (it's cheaper and we don't drink anyway), but really, I like our life and the pace that we are at.
Oh! I got an email from my sister-in-law and she told me that they are calling the baby (see photo below) "Tomito", which is really funny for me because of my gringa mind, I can't help but say "Tomatito" (which is like "little Tomato") Even when I read "Tomito" my mind and my tongue say "Tomatito" and I fear that when I meet this little boy I'm going to call him a tomato. (But oh well, everyone has to have a funny nickname.) I think I will buy him something red like a red jumper, so that it makes even more sense when I slip up.
Anyway, I'm really just killing time right now instead of studying or anything that sounds productive. And I'm craving a Chinese Chicken Salad wrap from Applebees.

Hi Erin, how nice you went to this Italian restaurant to lunch. That is the favorite food of Brian, and mine is Mexican, lol.

Hey, sound cute the presents you and Dennis gave to eachother for Valentine's Day. The scrapbook sounds fun.

He, made me smile the issue about Tomito and Tomatito.

Hey, so your brother in law is working on a CD for kids? How nice. Is he like singing in some songs or something? Sounds nice.

Bye for now and God bless,

Gabriela.
