I will be offline for a few days. I think...

I'm going to be in Michigan until Thursday afternoon for a "Women in Ministry" Conference, at Rochester College. So I might not get to check my myspace as much as I would like to. Dennis came home this morning and he has been trying to convince me to stay but this conference relates to what I want to do with my life and I'm really hoping that it will refresh me- sometimes I feel like I don't even know what I'm doing pursuing a degree in ministry because I don't want to be a children's minister or a youth minister or a missionary. I want to work in a hospital or something. And I don't hear of anyone else in my program who wants to do something like that so it's kind of daunting after awhile- I get good grades but is this really where God wants me to go? So meeting with other women, including women who are working as Chaplains, will hopefully be encouraging to me.It sucks that I'm leaving the day that Dennis came home. I wanted to put all of the photos that he took online and I wanted to spend time with him. But I'm only gone for 2 days and it's seriously not the end of the world. He brought home lots of souveniers from Chile- chocolate, wine, pisco- Chile's national liquor, and he bought me a really great purse :) (It's not coach but it's still pretty fantastic. His mom helped him pick it out and it makes me love her even more because she has awesome taste!) He also brought back some shawls (Clothes/Purses/Shoes from Chile are like heaven for me), and his mom sent me a tablecloth that is traditional for Chile. And his photos, which I will post, are pretty fantastic. The girls are growing into beautiful young women- our digital camera pretty much made the trip because he had the ability to take good photos and then take a bunch of silly ones with the girls making faces etc. He took photos of my father in law's business too, which was really nice because we helped him start the business and invested money in it (he sells produce)- it's a really nice little store and he seems to being doing well with it. I loved seeing all of the family and everyone looked so happy to see Dennis and to be together as a family. (My nephew, Tomatito, is soooo cute!!) One thing for future reference: I spent about $40 on candy for my neices and nephews- things I thought they wouldn't have in Chile so Nerds, Pixie Sticks, Sweettarts, Airheads, Pez, Sour straws, etc. (pretty much all willy wonka candy), and they didn't really like all the extra sweet/sourness- they kept asking Dennis if they sell "normal" candy in the US! So when I get back I'm going to have to put up one of those slideshows or something to show off all the photos :)

Hola Erin,

Aprovecha a pensar :)
