This is an emergency message from the Pepperdine EOC. There is a fire in Malibu Canyon near PCH. There is a second fire in Malibu Canyon near Piuma Road. Malibu campus student residents should remain in their residence halls. Faculty and staff residents of the Malibu campus should relocate to the Tyler Campus Center.

All Malibu campus students, faculty, and staff should be in the Tyler Campus Center, the Firestone Fieldhouse, or Payson Library. Remain at these locations and off the roads. Malibu campus events scheduled for today are canceled. At this time, no Pepperdine structures have been lost; although brush fires continue to burn around portions of the campus. Conditions can change rapidly. Please continue to adhere to Pepperdine official directions.
Sunday worship service in our pajamas, collectively. At least me in my pajamas. Obviously.

Students and staff are encouraged to return to residence halls and homes on the Malibu campus and remain off roadways at this time. Members of the Malibu campus community should not leave campus. The Student Health and Counseling Centers will remain open until 9:00 p.m. tonight. Classes are canceled for the Malibu campus only, tomorrow Monday October 22. Classes at graduate campuses away from the Malibu campus will meet tomorrow. Classes will resume on the Malibu campus Tuesday October 23. Offices at the Malibu campus will be closed tomorrow, however, designated Critical Support Personnel should be in contact with their supervisor and/or their EOC contact and report to the Malibu campus accordingly on Monday. Conditions may change rapidly. Please stand by for updates.
