Half of Half of a century... (graphic intense birthday)

This morning we started the day when Dennis answered the phone (usually he just hands it to me and I have to answer it. But today is MY birthday...) It was Pancho and my mother-in-law, who called me from Chile just to say Happy Birthday!! It was without a doubt probably the best part of the day (okay one of the best parts....) Because they called just to say Happy Birthday to me!! It was awesome because it makes me feel like they think I am just as important and part of the family as Dennis!

I found a fun surprise under my door- my friend/neighbor/girl I gossip with/girl I go to the gym with, Lori, had pushed a birthday card under my door with gift cards for Old Navy and Napster (music downloads!) (Oh yeah, and Dennis put a card on my purse!! He didn't forget about the card!)

As we left for church, I found a cute sign on the door- one of our neighbors (maybe my friend, I'm not sure- today happens to be her birthday too...) put it on my door!

And then we went to eat at one of our favorite Italian restaurants. Dennis told the waitress "it's her birthday!!" and I (because I really don't like it when people sing to me at restaurants) said "it's not that big of a deal... if you were going to give me a piece of cake, give me a drink instead."
(I didn't get the drink or the cake but it worked out.)

Then we went home and I took a long nap, woke up only because my grandma called me to say happy birthday. And then we talked to the girls and they each said "happy birthday! How old are you?" And I told them "half of half of a century". (It is very much on their teenage minds that I'm only 25 and Dennis is 37.) AND I checked my email and found some sweet "happy birthdays" from friends online and from school.

So, basically we didn't really do anything today. No guests but that's okay. I didn't have to clean. No loud music, no alcohol. Just a really really sweet cake. (I LOVE birthday cake but this was really sweet. I told Dennis "I can actually feel the sugar destroying my teeth! This is the one day of the year when I can do that!" And Dennis said "actually, I know you. You'll be eating this cake all week for breakfast."

Touche.

It's posed, I promise. I figure, you only have one day a year to pose while stuffing birthday cake in your face.

from Cindy (Thanks!! And thanks Miriam too for the wishes!!)

Ohhhh... I love the cake!! And you ate the "flowers" too!! :D I always want the flower part whenever I eat my birthday cake too. LOL

Yay for those gifts. That's so sweet of your friend posting a huge birthday note on your door. I bet you had a blast! ;)

So sorry about the simple card I sent you. I wanted to send a Hallmark, the website was down lastnight :( and AmericanGreetings require membership to send other choice of birthday card (which I'm not a member there) :( But I guess it's the wishes that count, ya. Ehehehe.. :P

Happy birthday once again, girl.
You deserve this beautiful day! :)

P/S You look so cute in that "posed" photo. *teehee*
